Pan Camp 2025
August 4th-9th
An incredible and FREE experience in world music! Participants will explore and learn the steel drum (pan) instrument, meet new people, and prepare for a performance with professional steel bands and world-renowned pannist Dr. Josanne Francis!
Rehearsals will be held Monday, August 4th, through Friday, August 8th at Anwatin Middle School in Minneapolis, MN. Participants will be split into three age groups:
- Grades 4-7 will attend from 9 AM to 11:30 AM with lunch provided
- Grades 8-12 will attend from 12 PM to 3 PM with lunch provided
- The Adult Ensemble will meet from 6 PM to 8 PM
With director approval, parents can request that their children of different ages attend the same ensemble.
On Saturday, August 9th, all groups will meet at Anwatin Middle School for a Day of Pan where participants can enjoy dinner, a free t-shirt, and a special performance from Dr. Josanne Francis. The day culminates in a concert featuring each of the three camp groups performing the pieces they learned throughout the week alongside Dr. Francis and the Tin Cups and Pan-handlers Steel Drum Bands.
Transportation to and from pan camp rehearsals and the Day of Pan event can be arranged as needed at no cost to participants.
All events are chaperoned by staff and volunteers. All music rehearsals will be run by Pan Outreach educators. Staff/Educator to participant ratio will be approximately 6:1 for each ensemble. Each ensemble will be limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Click the button below to register or to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you!
